First antenatal class

My first antenatal class started on 19/11. It's a 3hours class on every Friday which will last for 4 sessions. In the first session, we learn about pregnancy, life of parenthood & exercises during/after pregnancy. The midwife speak about pregnancy & the anatomy of our body during pregnancy. I was amazed by the changes inside my body that it has gone thru during my pregnancy. Uterus grow bigger & bigger that pushes all other organs aside to let baby grow. And after delivery. everything will be back to normal.

The midwife also talk to us about parenthood life. She said, this is a long journey that has got no mc, no annual leave, no epf, no salary & no specific working hour. It's the start of an introduction chapter of a new life. Once baby is born, chapter 1,2,3...& the lust goes on will start. It's new life chapter that we will give our love & never expect love in return. I was really touch about what the midwife said. It's so true that me & hubby is going into a new chapter of life. Although there might have lots of changes to our life after the arrival if baby, but we are sure to walk down this journey together.

Then the midwife also taught us some exercise steps which I can do during pregnancy & after delivery. So now every evening, hubby is going to do these exercise with me do that I can have a smooth delivery.

My first 3 months of first pregnancy

It's a truly amazing journey! The moment when I found out about my pregnancy which was back in the month of May 2010, I just felt so wonderful. It's the best news ever to me and my hubby. After the first pregnancy test, I wasn't really sure about it. Then I waited for another 2 days to give it another try early in the morning. There's a believe that the first pee in the morning would give a more accurate answer. So I did it again. It shows 2 lines again! And I know I'm pregnant! I showed both the test strips to my hubby who is still sleeping at that time, and he was so happy.

Immediately we make appointment with gynae, Dr Tang Boon Nee of SDMC (Sime Darby Medical Centre) to confirm the pregnancy. I've selected Dr Tang as my gynae because of her professionalism, caring and dedicated attitudes towards all her patients. She was highly praised over the websites. It's also because I prefer a lady gynae as I always believe lady gynae would understand lady better.

I went on my own for the first checkup as hubby had to attend an urgent meeting. I was a bit nervous since I was alone there at the hospital. When Dr Tang scanned my tummy, she explained with great patience about my baby I felt so wonderful. Although at that moment, baby was just as small as a size of a pea but what I saw is a live that is trying hard to grow and develop.

Baby is protected inside a pregnancy sac. This shows the start of a life within me.

Went home after check up and was really amazed about my pregnancy. As chinese believe, it's a taboo to go around telling everyone about your pregnancy within the first 3 months. So, we just keep this great news to ourselves first. None of our friends or family members know about it until I was about 3 months pregnant. Dr Tang scheduled another check up within 2 weeks time to let me see baby's heartbeat.

Now can see baby within the pregnancy sac with heart pumping fast.

At 3 months, me and my hubby have to travel to Australia for a reward trip given by my company. It was quite hectic and troublesome for me to travel at that time due to my morning sickness and the selective food that I can take during pregnancy. The long hours flight also wasn's quite comfortable to me as I have to go to the loo quite often. We seek for Dr Tang's advice before proceeding for this trip. To our relief, everything was alright. Aside from the morning sickness, I enjoyed the trip together with my hubby. It was our first family trip.

Although the first 3 months of pregnancy was quite difficult, as I have to keep this good news to myself and deal with all the sickness of pregnancy but it's an amazing journey. Day after day, I can feel baby growing inside me and this cannot be felt by anyone else. During the first 3 months, I was quite weak and felt dizzy all the time. I can hardly eat anything besides bread. So breads became my great companion over the 3 months. The moment after the 3rd month, I actually felt better. No more morning sickness or giddiness. I have more energy to deal with my work during the 2nd trimester.

I felt so amazing and great about my pregnancy. I would love to have more babies if circumstances allowed me to do so. It's a great journey that all women should experience it personally. All pregnancy experience are different but one similar thing is the great feeling that a life is rapidly growing inside you.

8th month into my first pregnancy

20th Oct chart the start of my 8th month into pregnancy! Hurray... 2more months to go! Baby is squirming more now especially after eating. Whenever I talk to baby, she's seems to response with a light kick. Maybe that's to tell me 'mummy I heard you!' wonderful feeling! During meetings, she'll squirm & kick when I m presenting. Is that a signal asking me to gambate, my lil precious?

Time to pack my bag for hospital stay. But I m always giving excuses to delay my packing with all the aches that I m going thru. Set to pack by this sat! Lots of things to arrange before I go on labour. Both at work & at home. Phew!! Lucky I have my parents over to help out.
26th Oct - went for check up & doctor said I didn't gained weight compare to last month. But baby gained weight. She's at 1502gm already. So doctor wants me to eat more. Baby's head has yet to turn to anterior position. Gonna walk more & do some exercise to help her move down. & I've started telling her to turn to anterior position when it's about time. At this I m still doing the fetal movement count to ensure baby is safe & healthy.
Went shopping at 1U to get some dates for confinement period. Found that I can't really walk for too long without rest in between. My back & leg will feel superly pain. Think this is because of baby's growing weight. Really can't wait for the big day to come! 10 more weeks to go!!

6th Nov(32nd week) - baby is very active & squirm a lot from morning till night. Now i know her sleeping pattern already. Able to know when she's sleeping & when she's awake. When she's awake, she'll kick & squirm around. Her kick can be hard that I can feel my rest chair moving. Haha.. She's strong. I m so proud of her!

Let's look at baby's development at this stage:
