10th month into my first pregnancy

9/12- Daddy, mummy & Shawn are finally here. They are here to help out & support me as my D-day is near. Went for a great steamboat dinner @ Damansara village. Baby keep kicking & squirming hard on my tummy. Now as she gets bigger, her movement can be seen with her legs jetting out on my tummy.
11/12- Time is drawing very near. Many of my colleagues who are due around my due date already gave birth. It's the waiting time that really make everyone stress. Will it fall on Christmas? Or on 29th which will be on my hubby's birthday? Hehe.. Baby you'll decide alright. Mummy & daddy leave this to you to decide. We are excited to see you soon.
12/12- Woke up early to follow hubby & mum to market. Although I can't walk for too long & go between crowded areas, it's always nice to sit by the cafe to watch people doing their marketing. Hubby & mum are busy preparing for steamboat dinner tonite. Baby is very active today. While having my light breakfast, she's squirming & kicking. The whole day I can feel her squirming & kicking. Felt so nice & happy. My legs & hands are starting to swell even more. A gynae friend of my hubby said he thinks that I'll be due this week based on these symptom that my hubby describe to him. Actually I prefer baby to stay on a little while more so that she can continue to grow in my tummy. Perhaps till at least around Christmas time which she'll be about 38weeks old. Now sleeping position is a real big matter to me. I can only sleep on stacks of pillows that supports my back upright now. Kind of uncomfortable as my swollen feet & hands are quite painful & also my back aches are really killing me. Even when I sleep flat on the bed, I will need hubby's help to sit upright. Just feel like a helpless tortoise who tries to turn it's shell around.
15/12- officially into 37weeks. The feeling is so great that baby will be due anytime now. The joy & excitement that only me & my hubby can feel while waiting anxiously. Baby is still active now. Braxton hicks are making it's way more often now even during mid night. I m wondering how the real contraction will feel like.
18/12- Today doctor scheduled a CTG test to examine baby's heartbeat. It's a 30 mins test where I was strap with 2 scopes to capture baby's heartbeat, movement & my contraction. Doctor said baby's heartbeat & movement are healthy. And I've not got any contraction. So now is to rest & wait for the next check up.

Third antenatal class

This session covers the topic of labour. Great exposure to my hubby. The midwife talk about role as labour partner. There's so much things that my hubby gotto do when I m in labour. She explains what he'll expect in labour room. That really helps him to imagine what's gonna happen. Hopefully he won't breakout or faint in the labour room. But I m sure with him beside me thruout the whole labour, it'll be great support. The midwife also share with us how the pain is gonna be and at which areas. Sounds scary!! But the pain management - breathing technique is gonna be useful. Three different ways of breathing to curb the labour pain. Starting from Pain, Push & Pent. I'll need my hubby to remind me the technique when I m in pain. I might just confuse & forgot about these techniques when I m in great pain. During the exercise, midwife get all hubbies to pinch their wives as signal of pain. Then wives are to practice the breathing techniques to ease the pain. It was quite bearable for me. But tge next day, the pinch turn into blue black on my arms. Poor me gotto bear with the blue black aches! After that we got the chance to visit labour room. It's very private and nice environment. Like it very much! Only hubby is allow to go into labour room area. Other family members will have to wait outside. Cool! Bonding moments between baby, me & hubby at the very first moment when baby arrives. Midwife brief us what to do when I m admitted. Just feel that it's very price worthy to deliver in private hospital. All equipments are fully available in the labour room. Even toilet is there in every room. It's so good!

Second antenatal class

In this session, we learned all about signs of labour & breadtfeeding. The signs of labour sounds a bit scary as the midwife put it. But I believe will go well for me. Just gotto be calm when the sign shows. Firstly, the sign could be frequent contractions that painful. It's different from Braxton hicks contraction. Secondly, waterbag burst which I will have to be admitted immediately. Lastly, shows of blood stain which I will have to be admitted immediately as well. Not necessary for all three to happen at the same time but any of the sign that occur will indicate that I m in labour!
Then the midwife talks about breadtfeeding. This topic is really interesting! Not only it's interesting but also amazing. God's creation is real amazing. Milk can be produced by mother & it's through bloodstream that turn into milk. The bonding between baby & mother during breastfeeding is something that none other activities can bring. In order to have successful breastfeeding, aside from the 101% support from my hubby, I will also need to have confidence & patience. Mother's milk contains highest nutrients for baby & we don't have to worried whether there's enough nutrients in the milk for baby. All nutrients contained in breastmilk are in great proportion required by baby. Again it's another amazing creation by god! Although I have not hands on to breadtfeeding skill but during the class, we are taught on the method. And after delivery, hospital will arrange midwife/nurses to teach again on the method. I shall learn & practice patiently once my baby arrives. Thinking to breastfeed for as long as I can or if not at least 6months to make sure she gets enough nutrients as possible.

9th month into my first pregnancy

Feeling excited as time draws near. In just another 8 weeks more, I'll be seeing my lil princess.
12/11- baby squirm & kick when I m resting but sleep when I m busy. Guess she's establishing a good sleeping now. Or is it because I can feel when she's asleep & when she active.

14/11- went on a whole day shopping spree with hubby to get all the final stuff in our baby's stuff list. Tiring but satisfied! Gotten all stuff prepared and ready! Today baby is really active. Especially in the morning. Squirm a lot since early morning. While waiting in the car for babyland to open, baby gave me a few rounds of hard kick.. Excited with these kick but it's quite painful though. My tears was at the brink of my eye when she kicking. Think she must be very that we are shopping for her stuff today! I m glad that she very active which shows that she's developing well. Today we also bought 2 DVDs for her to learn about Chinese idioms & English words for newborn baby..now she has got 'di zi gui', 'san zi jing', 'cheng yu dong hua lang' & 'baby bright'! She'll be real busy after this. So many things to learn up. Well all parents would want the best forbtheir kids. We are not kiasu just want to build up a good learning foundation for her since born.

16/11- Went for check up. This round baby has turn down to birth position. And she's now weight 2.1kg. Dr said with this position & weight, I can have natural birth. That's really a good news to me! Dr taught me how to massage my tummy to stimulate baby to get ready for birth & massage breast to send message to brain to start producing milk. To prepare for labour, Dr wants me to take some walk whenever I can & do the half squating exercise.
22/11-my legs start to swell. It gets swollen by end of the day. Looks more like elephant legs. My hubby & brother keep laughing at my swollen legs saying I might end up with a trunk since I now elephant legs. That's so bad of them!! They won't know how it feels to be a mother. Although gotto suffer thru those aches & uncomfortable symptoms, but as long ad I feel baby is growing well & healthy, I'm perfectly happy with any discomfort symptoms.

24/11-Been really busy for past 2days with training & launches. And baby is kicking & squirming as hard. She's growing stronger & healthier. I m so glad about it.

25/11- Noticed that everytime I eat fruits, baby will kick or squirm a lot while I m enjoying the freshness & sweetness of the fruits. Guess she likes fruits & vegetables as much as me. Wow!! That'll wonderful as we have something in common already even before she's born.

27/11- Went karaoke buffet @ Neway with hubby. Not bad! I can still sing without going out of breath. Ate variety of foods & sang lots of song. Baby was kicking & squirming throughout the session listening to daddy & mummy sing. Felt the happiness of going karaoke together as 1 family. When baby arrives, we'll plan to bring her with us but gotto wait till she can at least sing song of ABC!

3/12- feel very tired & sleepy most of the days. Been sleeping & resting as much as I can but it's just not enough. Maybe it's the hormone change & the way body react at this stage. Attended the third antenatal class which covers the topic of labour. Fantastic session for me & my hubby. The midwife spoke about labour partner & their role in labour room. Talked about pain management, there's 4 methods - epidural, petadine, ethonox & breathing technique. For me, I m going for ethonox(gas&air) which will reduce my pain by 40%, breathing technique & lastly the petadine. The first two are priority choices as it doesn't have side affect on me & baby. We did some practice on the breathing technique - pain, push & pent. Now I have more confidence that I'll go through the labour smoothly. Baby is very active during the breathing exercise. That's because I m totally relax. She kicks & squirm as I practice the breathing method. We also get a chance to visit labour room. Nice & comfortable room. Feel the privacy too as only mother & father can enter that area.
Baby seems very active at night. After class, it's already almost 12am. I feel very sleepy but baby is still kicking & squirming a lot. Try changing position and end up sleeping with back on a stack of pillows. Baby only settle down to sleep after 2 hours if kicking & squirming. Although tiring, but I m happy as I know she doing well in there. Gambate baby!

5/12- It's time to pamper myself with pedicure & hair cut today.
First we had a great breakfast at Starbuck! Was really hungry that I ordered 2 classic doughnuts. Enjoyed the breakfast with hubby !!

As I can't reach my toe now, pedicure is the best! Make my toes look so tidy & nice. And the moisturizing treatment that really make my whole leg look so smooth & silky. Plus the massage that makes me feel so comfortable especially with my swollen feet. This time I've chosen a dark purple color nail polish that will match the dress that I m going to wear during fullmoon dinner.

Next is the new haircut that will make me feel comfortable during confinement period. Been thinking of what hairstyle to do that will give me a fresh look even during fullmoon & Chinese new year. So decided to have a short haircut that's really trendy. Wanna be pretty mummy that everyone is gonna look up to as example.

8/12- 36 weeks check up today. Baby's head had move down into my pelvis. Not really engaged yet. But doctor said it's normal. Baby is now at 2.7kg which is of a good weight & I can go for normal delivery. Doctor told me to stop my supplements or can just take it once a week. From her calculation on baby's weight, baby might be at 3.3kg at birth. So in order to make my delivery slightly easier for me, I gotto start controlling baby's weight now. I actually had flu today. Running nose, irritated throat & fever. Doctor said lots of mothers had flu recently. Gave me some medicine for flu & fever. She said as I have fever, baby will also have fever because wshe's in my tummy. So I must recover asap!

Next is the start of 10th month. The long waited time has come. It's now the waiting time for baby to arrive. At this moment we are not sure exactly when she'll arrive. Maybe during Christmas plus minus days before & after. We'll leave it to god. We are not going for the induction to make it faster since I m healthy during this pregnancy.
