Finally our little princess Sueanne is here!

At 38th week, which I officially go on maternity leave to rest & prepare for labour she's finally here!
I was happily doing the movie clip for hubby's birthday & facebooking when I suddenly feel stomachache. It's the urge to poo poo. Then I saw brown spot which means the mucus plug that protects baby from outside womb has came off. Meaning labour is just matter of hour. But I just don't want to stay in hospital as it'll be even more stressful. So I went home for dinner and before that we went for tau foo fah & coconut drink. After dinner, while resting I can feel some mild contraction. But that was about 10-15mins apart. And I felt really tired. So went to bed around 9pm. Around 12am I feel the contraction that is a bit more intense than braxton hicks. So immediately I use the contraction timer to time my contraction. From 12am - 2am the contraction was 5mins apart. I was still very cool telling my hubby not to panic. As he worries if I m really in labour, he decided to send me hospital. I was still able to walk from carpark to labour ward to check in. Cool isn't it? Upon check in to labour room, I was put on CTG for 1/2hr to check my contraction & baby's heartbeat. The nurse confirm that I have 5mins apart contraction & call Dr Tang Boon Nee for her instruction. I was then admitted for delivery at 3am. I was given bowel clearance pump to clear my bowel which I have to hold the water for 10mins. It was so unbearable the urge to poo became stronger. After clearing my bowel, I was again put on CTG to continue monitoring. Every 1hr the nurse will come in to check my dilation. By 4am I was already 3cm dilated. Contraction continue every 5 mins and last for 1min. The whole night, I only manage to rest when contraction is over. Hubby was with me the whole time giving me support & cheer when contraction comes. I know he was really tired but he just can rest when I m suffering in pain. I used the breathing technique that I've learn in antenatal class to go through the contraction. The pain becomes unbearable as labour progress. The whole night I've not been sleeping. When Dr. Tang came at 8am I was already at 5cm. As I feel very sleepy, I asked if I can use the petidhine to let me relax & rest. Dr.Tang observed for another 30minutes before giving me the jab. I was able to sleep for few hours. Feel drowsy & sleepy throughout but still can feel the pain. And I feel real hot that I keep asking my hubby to increase the temparature. But when I m in labour, Dr Tang came in and asked to turn off the air cond. I was still feeling hot so no choice I have to get my hubby to fan me from the side. I was asked to slowly turn to the side to help me push better. As I was too drowsy due to the gas, I fell asleep while pushing. The midwife sat beside me to give me cheer&support. Whenever there's contraction, I try to push so that baby's head can crown in. The feeling is like the strong urge to poo. Once baby's head is crowned, I was asked to turn to the front. The midwife shave the additional hair down there to make way for baby. Dr. Tang came in to officially deliver my baby. I was still drowsy but I can hear all the nurses, midwife, Dr., and my hubby cheering for me asking me to push. Whenever there's contraction on graph, everyone will tell me push. I was too eager to push harder, that I open up my mouth and the nurse asked me to close my mouth. It was quite close gap between each push when I have contraction. Dr. Tang cut a little at the down under (episiotomy) to make way for baby to come out. After a while I can feel something hot coming out from my down under. And in the next moment, Dr. Tang put my baby on my tummy to let me have the first touch. Baby was still covered with water & a bit of blood. My hubby & I were so touch at that very moment. After a long wait, finally she's here onto our arm.
Then the nurse took my baby to the warmer to keep her warm. Meanwhile, Dr.Tang was still busy to deliver my placenta. I actually don't feel anything when I deliver my placenta. And Dr. Tang give a jab to numb the down under before stitching. Then she tries to clean out some leftover membrane that still left inside after the placenta was detached. The nurses then clean me up before pushing me to ward. Baby was pushed to nursery together with hubby after all the identification tag being put on. When nurses were pushing me to the ward, they make a cup of Milo coupled with some crackers for me to bring down to ward. That's very nice & caring of them. And this is what I called as the professionalism service rendered. I stayed in hospital for 3days 2nights and it was an excellence experience with the care from family members and hospital staffs.
